Breast Improvement
The creation of beautiful breasts requires the doctor to possess both the artistic knowledge and surgical skill to create them. The aim of surgery, whether it is enlarging, reducing or lifting of breasts, is to provide a shape and size that the patient desires. Having achieved this invariably patients have an improved body image and self confidence.
Breast Augmentation (Enlargement)
Breast Augmentation is for women desiring larger and shapelier breasts. Augmentation is a straight forward surgical procedure that provides very pleasing results. The surgery is usually performed as a day surgery or overnight stay.
"I cannot believe how much more confidence I have since my procedure. I have a whole new lease on life - I just love how I look."

The incision can be placed either under the breast , around the nipple or under the armpit. The implant can be placed directly under the breast or deeper under the muscle. No drains are required.
There is some discomfort for the first few days and it is usually OK to return to work 4-7days after the procedure. You will need to purchase a bra with no underwire to wear post-operatively. The office will provide you with further information.
Dr Flood likes you to bring in photos of what shaped breasts you would like. Also have a look at our photo gallery to get some ideas of how different types and sizes of implants look.
He will take measurements of your breasts and chest at your initial consultation to establish the most suitable implant for you. Saline or silicone, round or teardrop - he will discuss all your options so that you will end up with the right breasts for you.

Mastopexy (Breast Lift)
For women with saggy breasts a mastopexy may suit you - either in combination with an augmentation or by itself. The procedure can improve the shape and contour of the breast without altering the size. Saggy breasts are very common following breast feeding and pregnancy. At times, following large weight losses, saggy breasts may develop.
Incision is made around the nipple extending vertically down to the mammary crease. The so-called "lollipop" incision allows the skin to be removed and re-draped allowing the nipple position to be elevated and to achieve a more "perky" breast.
The procedure is performed as a day stay. No drains are required. Patients usually return to work after 1 week.

Breast Reduction
Patients with overly large breasts can suffer from long term back, neck, and shoulder ache and in some cases feel extremely self conscious - especially teenagers. A breast reduction procedure can dramatically improve your breast size, with usually a 2-night stay in hospital and a few weeks recovery. A special bra is worn post-op to help with your new shape and position.
"I have spent so long not being able to be involved in sport because my breasts were so big. The surgery has relieved my chronic backache & I've joined a gym - I wish I had done this years ago."
